Is an AI Scientist who develops AI and distributed intelligence solutions for Computer Networking - Wide area networks, Wireless and Quantum Networking.
Dr. Kiran joined Oak Ridge National Laboratory in 2023 as Group Lead for Quantum Networking and Communications Group.

Earning her PhD, MSc in Computer Science, Kiran developed evolutionary learning algorithms for Agents in large complex systems over distributed high performance systems building the open source platform FLAME.

Dr. Kiran’s research explores AI/ML solutions for improving network performance for high-speed distributed data movement and large science transfers such as in US DOE science challenges (e.g. high-energy physics, plant ecology, nuclear energy applications and more). Her major research accomplishments include network intelligence for intent based networks, agentic AI in networks, traffic engineering optimization, TCP algorithm research and studying network protcols for wide area networks, wireless and quantum networking.
Dr. Kiran has been recognized as a 2021 ACM rising star for networking, UKStudy alumni by the British Council, 2017 DOE Early Career and 2016 Royal Society Scientist in Westminster.
